MORE ABOUT OTD
OTD is an exceptionally strong organization that has managed to have large impact through its organizing approaches, including legal and policy advocacy, capacity building of members, arts and culture, historical international advocacy and mobilization of LGBTQI community in Chile. Last year OTD was part of the efforts that led to the passage of an anti-discrimination law in Chile that includes sexual orientation and gender identity as protected categories. Thanks to their tireless advocacy with the Ministry of Health they were also able to secure a Health Protocol for the respectful treatment of trans people. In addition, they are one of the main organizations that have carved the space for LGBTQI advocacy within the Inter-American system, and produced a CEDAW shadow report on the Human Rights situation of LBT women. This year they are working to pass a Gender Identity Law in Chile.
